David Fleay Wildlife Park is currently run by the Queensland Environmental Protection Agency and aspires to become Australia's premiere wildlife education facility through the promotion of Queensland's wildlife with a focus on threatened species research and education.
The Park plays an important role in the recovery plans of many of Queensland's threatened species either through the breeding of animals for release into the wild (e.g. the Proserpine rock-wallaby), providing never-before-recorded information on the animal's biology, or by educating people about these animals. Information on threatened species found at DFWP can be found in our Wildlife section.
David Fleay Wildlife Park also offers a comprehensive range of discovery-based wildlife education programs to primary, secondary amd tertiary groups.
For more information on these programs please contact the Park's education department on (07) 5576 2411 or click here.
David Fleay Wildlife Park combines community education, ecotourism, wildlife conservation and research.
